ELiSE

tDCS is a non-invasive technique that uses low intensity current to modulate neural activity.

tDCS is generally considered to be safe. Any side effects are mild and tolerable.

Sensations such as itching, tingling and hot have been used for describing tDCS.

Redness and itching on the skin where electrodes are placed.

If you have skin conditions such as rash and eczema, then tDCS may worsen these conditions.

A typical session last 20 minutes.

Studies have demonstrated tDCS to be effective at reducing the symptoms of mental fatigue, improving mental wellness, and improving cognitive and motor functions^1-2. Studies are currently ongoing on the effectiveness of tDCS as an intervention for mental disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, addiction etc^3-5.

ELiSE is being developed into a neuromodulation system based on tDCS comprising a mobile app, a modulation unit and a headset.
